Sustainability Policy

Directors Australia's commitment to sustainable business practices.

TRAVEL & MEETINGS

  • Walk or use public transport to attend meetings, site visits, etc., where practical, unless cost or time prohibitive

  • Avoid meetings in person where virtual alternatives are practical. Time meetings effectively to avoid multiple trips.

  • Reduce the need for staff travel by supporting alternative working arrangements, including working from home.

  • Purchase carbon credits when booking flights.

PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT & RESOURCE CONSUMPTION

  • Minimise use of paper and other office consumables

  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and recycle, where possible (including redundant electronic equipment)

  • Reduce energy consumption by using natural light, where possible, and purchasing energy conserving equipment and consumables, such as efficient lightbulbs. Turn off lights and equipment when not in use.

  • Seek to purchase electricity from a supplier committed to renewable energy (where feasible due to office leasing arrangements)

  • Conserve water and prefer non-disposable drink containers

  • Use environmentally friendly cleaning products, prefer reduced packaging, and purchase fair trade and/or organic products, where possible.
