SEE Group is a family-owned group of companies specialising in infrastructure construction, urban and commercial development, quarrying, material processing and plant management in the public and private sectors.

Established in 1988, SEE Group currently employ over 400 direct employees and 300 labour hire/contractors and has annual revenue of approximately $400M.

The position
The shareholders of SEE Group are seeking to appoint two inaugural independent, advisory board members. 

Key selection criteria
The successful candidates must be able to meet one of the following criteria:

  • One advisory board member is to have demonstrated commercial acumen gained through recent direct commercial experience in a comparable business to SEE Group, and
  • The subsequent advisory board member is to have deep experience in commercial contract risk management and negotiation.

Additionally, candidates will have:

  1. Previously C-suite experience in the mining and minerals sectors and the ability to mentor managers in that industry.
  2. An ability to play an active role in strategic planning including critically assessing strategic opportunities and threats, as well as supporting the delivery of strategic and business objectives 
  3. Experience at board level or advisory board level including a sound working knowledge of corporate governance systems and frameworks, and an ability to apply that knowledge to improve company performance
  4. An ability to work effectively within a family-owned company context including liaising with, and gaining the trust and respect of, members and other stakeholders
SEE Group is seeking candidates based across Australia with relevant expertise.

Timing
The term of the advisory board is established for an initial two-year period with a review at the end of that period by the governing board. Advisory board members will be appointed for a two-year period commensurate with the advisory board period. 
The board would ideally like to have the new advisory board members in place by November 2024. 
Meetings will usually be held at the company’s head office in Helensvale and can be up to half a day in duration and there is an option to dial in for meetings. Meeting will be held every two months. 

Remuneration
This position is remunerated by way of an attractive market competitive base fee.
